• Presentation Summary: Leadership in the workplace is challenging with lots of personalities, backgrounds and experience. This session will focus on one challenge that can be both understood and harnessed to everyone’s benefit. Do you as a leader struggle with ADHD? Or maybe you have staff or colleagues that struggle with ADHD.  Together we will explore both the positive and the challenging aspects of the various characteristics of those who have ADHD. Discuss the questions you can ask yourself or others  with ADHD to find those strengths that make you/them a valuable resource to your entity. Then we will discover how to create optimal environments at home, work and in educational settings that will bring out the best in those that present with ADHD.  We will wrap this up with a question-and-answer session with someone who has struggled with ADHD and is still working to improve every day.

• Presenter Bio: Originally from Oklahoma and a proud Oklahoma State University Alum, Kristy has been in Public Procurement for over 15 years.  She currently works as a Capital Contracting Officer for Loudoun County Government in Virginia. She has a passion to help others grow in their procurement profession and she feeds this passion by continuing to pay it forward in honor of all those who helped her get where she is at today. She currently teaches a variety of topics for NIGP, is a staff member of Radio NIGP, and an NIGP mentor. In her “spare” time when she is not spending time with her husband and fur babies Timmy & Fitz, she volunteers for her local chapter of the American Red Cross supporting their Service to the Armed Forces and International Services.
